Marrakesh Candle

Saffron, warm spice · Cedarwood · Amber

£22

The medina at dusk. The spice souk is closing, mint tea is being poured from height on a rooftop, and the cedar doors of the riads are shut against the heat. Push one open and you are somewhere else entirely: a courtyard with orange trees, water moving in a channel, shade.

That tension is the collection. Marrakesh lives between the hot, dusty, spiced street and the cool, green, floral courtyard — so the candle is the street, all saffron, amber and warm spice, while the soap and the diffuser are the courtyard: orange blossom, spearmint and cedar, bright enough to stay with you without ever turning heavy.

The pattern is zellige — glazed terracotta cut by hand and assembled into tessellating stars. Two things make the real thing unmistakable, and we have kept both. The tiles are hand-cut, so the lines are slightly irregular; a perfectly mechanical repeat looks wrong. And the colour is intense, not muted — cobalt and saffron on white plaster, never sepia. Scent and pattern from the same streets: that pairing is the product.
