Bakhoor smoke curling out of a brass mabkhara, passed around the room so it catches in clothes and hair. Desert night outside; dates and cardamom coffee within. This is the deepest, darkest collection in the range, and it is meant to feel that way.

The candle is the reason the collection exists — oud, amber, myrrh and labdanum, the deepest thing we pour. The soap reads the same palette at its lightest, frankincense lifted by cardamom and bergamot, resin without the weight. The diffuser holds the middle with frankincense, sandalwood and cedar. No rose anywhere: Persia owns rose, and keeping it out of Arabia is what keeps the two collections distinct.

The pattern is girih — strapwork geometry built from a small set of tiles that lock into stars and polygons of astonishing complexity. Here the strapwork becomes the solid ground and the spaces between become the openings: the inverse of Marrakesh's treatment, which is why two geometric traditions read so differently on a shelf.
